A school is only eligible to submit students for P-EBT benefits once they have operated at a reduced capacity due to COVID. The program defines this as any one student being quarantined for 5 consecutive school days. To receive P-EBT benefits, students must qualify for Free/Reduced Lunch under the National Schools Lunch Program. Students may qualify for these benefits by application through our food service department, enrollment in a Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) school, or through the state’s direct match program. A list of CEP schools can be found here https://www.bossierschools.org/childnutrition. These benefits will be retroactive from August 10, 2022 to cover meals that were missed. A student’s benefit amount is calculated by the number of qualifying days in the calendar month. A qualifying day is: A day of present attendance while enrolled in a fully virtual program due to COVID OR A day of quarantine, as directed by the school There are three tiers of benefits based on the number of qualifying days.
